The Forshaw Group was proud to support the Merseyside Armed Forces Employment Fair recently. The fair was held at the Adelphi Hotel Liverpool on Saturday 28 September 2024. The Forshaw Group was one of 40 businesses in attendance from across the Liverpool region, offering employment, training and apprenticeships opportunities.
A team effort
Our managing director Liam Hanlon, operations manager John-Joseph Calvert, senior surveyor Joe Chellew, and surveyor Luke Allan, attended the event. The team offered support and guidance to the armed forces community looking for employment and learning opportunities in the region.
Speaking of the event, Liam Hanlon said, “As part of our Gold Armed Forces Covenant status, we are always looking for new ways to show our support for the Armed Forces.
“We were delighted to be present at the employment fair for the armed forces. It is a privilege to be able to offer our advice and experience – and hopefully provide them with a future once they leave active service.”
A Gold standard
Part of the Ministry of Defence’s Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS), the nationally recognised Armed Forces Covenant scheme encourages employers to support defence services and inspire others to do the same. It operates a three-tier approach of Bronze, Silver and Gold awards, recognising different levels of commitment provided by employers.
The Forshaw Group was delighted to be awarded Gold in 2022, which recognised the business for not only employing and supporting those who serve, veterans and their families, but which has become an advocate to others across the UK.
