The Forshaw Group is delighted to welcome back our managing director, Liam Hanlon, after his recent successful summit of Kilimanjaro.
Located in Tanzania, Kilimanjaro is the highest peak in Africa and the tallest freestanding mountain in the world. Liam climbed Kilimanjaro with his wife Deborah on 12 September as a personal challenge, but under the banner of Tri-4-Life.
Boots for Kilimanjaro
After their successful summit of Kilimanjaro and experiencing the beautiful country, culture, and people, Liam and Deborah decided to launch a community project whilst they were there. The charitable couple have vowed to provide 100 pairs of new boots for all the porters and guides who support the many expeditions up the mountain.
A trip of a lifetime
Speaking of this incredible trip, Liam says: “It was a joy to climb Kilimanjaro with my wife Deborah. Although I struggled with the altitude, Deborah took it all in her stride. We were left in awe of the mountain community, and we hope our ‘Boots for Kilimanjaro’ donation will help the porters and guides who gave us so much. They are true warriors, climbing Kilimanjaro again and again with almost nothing, and we couldn’t have done it without them.”
Congratulations on your successful summit Liam and Deborah.
