Ashleigh O’Callaghan, a BDMA Claims Technician, our United Utilities Manager and one of our ESG Champions for Wellbeing, and Ben Scott, a BDMA claims technician, surveyor and project manager and ESG Champion for Environment and Sustainability, have been proudly representing and supporting The Forshaw Group.
Mental Health First Aid Course
Ashleigh O’Callaghan has recently completed a mental health first aid course, after attending four three-hour sessions.
The mental health first aid course is similar to a physical first aid course.
The course covers a wide range of different topics, including anxiety, panic attacks, eating disorders, self-harm, depression and suicide, and has been designed to support someone experiencing poor mental health before professional help is accessed. It provides the knowledge and tools to notice if someone one is struggling with their mental health, for example – changes in a person’s behaviour.
The course qualification is valid for three years, and also provides Ashleigh access to a MHF (Mental Health First) Aider Support App. Within this, she can find charities and support groups that can assist anyone anywhere in the country, and gain access to the support required specifically to a person’s individual needs.
Ashleigh says, “It was very interesting and opened my eyes as to how to best deal with these situations, should I ever need to.”
Waste management for insurance reinstatement works
Ben Scott was pleased to recently support Allianz by outlining how waste is managed across The Forshaw Group’s insurance reinstatement works.
Our projects generate a range of construction waste streams, including plasterboard, timber, metals, and paints. To ensure responsible handling, we work with trusted waste management partners operating a zero waste-to-landfill policy. While waste is further segregated at their specialist facilities, we also take proactive steps on-site, particularly separating materials such as gypsum, which require compliant disposal routes.
Reducing waste at source remains a priority for The Forshaw Group. We continually optimise material usage, reuse viable surplus, and, wherever possible, offer leftover finishing materials to customers for future use.
Through these practices, we are committed to minimising our environmental impact whilst maintaining the highest standards across all works delivered for Allianz.
