Over the past 20 years we have taken part in bespoke challenges all over the world, and have helped raise thousands of pounds for charity, as well as support worthwhile community initiatives.
Here’s just a few of the events which TFG – The Forshaw Group has taken part in or organised over the last few months:
Pedal power for Cancer Research UK
We took part in the Cycle300 challenge for Cancer Research UK on Friday 4 September. We set up our cycling machine and rowing machine at The Forshaw Group offices to complete the 300 mile challenge. We raised an amazing £1000! Take a look at how we got on in our video below:
Making a splash for charity
Our managing director, Liam Hanlon, organised his 17th annual Across Mersey Swim, which took place on Saturday 18 July this year.
We supported many charities through this event, including Southport & Ormskirk Hospital bereavement fund, Stick ‘n’ Step, Maggie’s Centres Merseyside, Wallasey Amateur Boxing Club, The Paul Lavelle Foundation, TRI4LIFE Charitable Fund, The Special Boat Service and Liverpool Heartbeat.
Helping young boxers clean up their community
The Forshaw Group got its hands dirty for Clean Up Week earlier this month (October), with our manging director, Liam Hanlon, and others helping Wallasey Amateur Boxing Club to clean up the Leasowe community.
Despite the rain, a team of 12 turned up to assist with this worthwhile community initiative, which included clearing the car park, hardstanding, and green space around the boxing huts.
Liam Hanlon, managing director at The Forshaw Group, stated: “There is a real community spirit on the estate, and Leasowe has a reputation of community action and self-help, offering local volunteering opportunities for residents. It was a pleasure to help the community care for its spaces, and I hope it will inspire others to take part and do their bit to help keep Britain tidy.”
