Lots of fundraising taking place last week here at The Forshaw Group. The team has been raising money for Maggie’s Centre and Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.
The Forshaw Group, shooting hoops for charity
Last week, The Forshaw Group took part in a netball tournament in memory of Paula Roberts, and to raise money for local charity, Maggie’s Centre. This annual event saw 30 teams competing, along with three teams from The Forshaw Group – made up of staff, family and friends – at Tranmere Recreation Centre.
Maggie’s is a Merseyside-based charity that provides support for anyone with cancer, and their family and friends. The support is free, and no referrals or appointments are needed. The centre offers a safe haven, and a breathing space away from hospitals.
The Forshaw team go for a run at the Delamere dash
Last Sunday also 17 employees from The Forshaw Group took part in the Delamere Dash, raising funds for Roy Castle Lung Cancer.
The Delamere Dash offers a fantastic, challenging course, with stunning scenery. You can choose to run either five or 10 kilometres. The course is run on mixed terrains that include gravel paths and trail paths. The route has a mixture of inclines throughout the course but manageable for all fitness levels.
Liam Hanlon added: “What better way to enjoy the fresh autumn air than running through Delamere Forest? It was great to see so many participants from the team at The Forshaw Group taking part. All money raised from this event will help fund vital research into the early detection of lung cancer, as well as support services that the charity provides for all those affected by the disease.”
