As part of its’ ongoing commitment to training and qualifications for its staff, The Forshaw Group is proud to announce that three of its technicians have recently enjoyed success. Amy Meath, Kimberley Meadows and Ben Scott have each passed their BDMA Claim Technician examinations. This is testament to their hard work and dedication, as part of The Forshaw Group’s Drying & Restoration team, and the skills they have learned – and continue to strengthen – via this qualification.
The BDMA, or the British Damage Management Association, is an important industry body that links the UK’s insurance sector with the companies that provide recovery and restoration services. Created in 1999, the BDMA ensures that there are uniform standards of care and codes of practice across the industry, which are further underpinned by technical and corporate training. It also deals with best-practice in related disciplines that affect staff on a daily basis, such as insurers and loss adjusters.
The Claims Technician accreditation is designed for those who work with property claims. It caters for technicians who are not directly employed by an insurance or adjusting company, but who regularly interact with professional damage management practitioners and the insurance sector. Successful graduates from the course must have demonstrated a wide variety of skills, including awareness of insurance property claims processes, and also have experience of the damage management industry.
Amy, Kimberley and Ben all passed their examinations with flying colours. Ben, who is part of TFG surveying team, commented, “It’s great to add this qualification to my CV as part of my professional development within the industry. I can now apply the knowledge gained to manage claims with a better understanding of the decisions I am making and to raise our game in completing works to a high standard, over the shortest timescale and as cost-effectively as possible”.
Liam Hanlon, managing director at The Forshaw Group, is very proud of his staff’s achievements: “We always try to ensure that we support our technicians as much as possible in their endeavours and it’s great when their hard work and dedication reaps its rewards. All three of these graduates have demonstrated that they have what it takes to have successful careers at The Forshaw Group”.
