The Forshaw Group’s managing director, Liam Hanlon attended the ‘Working together: Helping Britain’s businesses be their best’ Round table event on Monday (26 September 2022). Held as part of the Labour Party Conference, the round table took place at the Maritime Museum in Liverpool. It was hosted by the Fabian Society and Lloyd’s business banking.
The event was chaired by Fabian Society’s treasurer, Lord Kennedy, and The Forshaw Group was one of only four businesses invited to attend. The business leaders joined key parliamentary members, and it was a huge honour to be invited.
The round table conversation was based around four current pertinent questions, and were selected as the most topical in the current climate and subjects that members had expressed concern about:
- How can small businesses weather the storm of rising costs, and thrive at a time of economic challenges?
- Which sectors will be most affected, and what trends can we expect to emerge in 2023?
- What role can government, banks and other actors play to help British businesses grow and boost productivity?
- Is there a need for businesses to be provided with direct support to help with rising energy costs?
Commented Liam Hanlon, managing director of The Forshaw Group: “I was delighted to be invited to represent The Forshaw Group at the ‘Working together: Helping Britain’s businesses be their best’ round table event. It was fascinating to hear the different views on such important business questions that business leaders are currently facing, as well as have the opportunity to take part in the conversation.”
