One Stop Claims Management

For Acumus -Anchor Management, severe flood damage at a residential care home in East Grinstead could have involved complex communication between a number of different parties to deliver all the processes involved in mitigation, restoration, building and contents reinstatement.

Appointing the Forshaw Group for all claims management on this contract meant they only needed to liaise with one single point of contact. The appointment, day-to-day communication and co-ordination of all sub-contractors during the ten-week contract were undertaken by Forshaw.

Silver Court Care Home remained operational throughout the contract period with all work programmed through collaborative management, including out of hours working.

The people factor

The flood at the Silver Court Care Home affected 15 individual residential units with en-suite wet rooms, the communal lounge, dining room, ancillary rooms, corridors and the main reception area. Following the relocation of residents affected by the flood, the Forshaw team’s primary concern was keeping the remaining areas of the care home operational and managing the safety of the remaining elderly and vulnerable residents.

The work was programmed to allow for early handover of the completed units, which could then be carpeted and furnished in preparation for the re-located residents to return as soon as possible.
