Our managing director, Liam Hanlon, was delighted to recently attend an exciting event, which promised to create long-lasting impact and shape the future of skills in the Liverpool city region.
Organised by the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce, ‘Summit 2024: Transforming Skills & Employability for the Region’ took place at the Hilton Hotel in Liverpool on 26 March, bringing together employers, policy makers and training providers from across the region.
Over the last few months, colleges, training providers and Chambers of Commerce from across the Liverpool City Region have been working together to deliver a series of six transformational, employer-backed projects.
The event provided an opportunity for delegates to understand how these six Local Skills Improvement Fund (LSIF) projects are progressing, to support economic growth and boost productivity across the region.
Metro Mayor of the Liverpool City Region, Steve Rotheram, Rachel Smith from Peel Ports, and Mark McManus from Stiebel Eltron all delivered updates at the event.
Representatives from the six colleges involved in the projects also provided updates on the progress, and provided a panel discussion, with the opportunity for feedback from the delegates, to ensure the delivery of skills needed to support future economic growth in the region.
Speaking of the Summit, Liam Hanlon said, “As an employer looking to recruit in the Liverpool City Region, and being invested in making our region a leader for skills and employment, this event was not to be missed.”
