The Forshaw Group managing director, Liam Hanlon recently attended the Military Preparation College (MPC) Showcase event at the Royal Liver building. Organised by the MPC based at Toosey Barracks Army Reserve Centre, the event was designed to highlight the opportunities the college can provide school leavers.
The Military Academy is a unique training college that helps 16+ year olds develop their fitness, vocational qualifications, and employability skills to help prepare for employment, including rewarding careers in the British Armed Forces.
As a business that holds a Gold award with the Armed Forces Covenant, the MPC event and ethos is well aligned to the core values of The Forshaw Group. Liam was invited to present to the attendees about the company’s well-established apprenticeships, which provide an alternative route to students who might ultimately decide not to progress to military service.
Commented Liam: “The event was a great opportunity to highlight the INSpire academy and the apprenticeships we run. The aims and objectives of the college mesh well with our own, and while a career in the armed forces is a great choice for many young people, we also understand that it is not for everyone. Our apprenticeship provides an alternative, which also provides lots of opportunities for advancement and career satisfaction.”
