The Forshaw Group is proud to continue to represent the many women that operate within the construction industry and across our workforce. We have always been committed to increasing diversity by promoting gender equality both internally and externally within all we do in the company.
With International Women’s Day last week, we don’t just support women on this recognised day, but every day of our operation. We are proud to help enrol, train and support women who are interested in starting a job within the construction industry and help them achieve their goals.
On Thursday 10 March, some of our amazing female members of staff – Julie, Angela, Michelle and Jodi – from across the business visited the historic Knowsley Hall for a Women in Business event. Led by Knowsley Chamber, the event demonstrated the strength women possess both in construction and other roles within this sector, such as accountancy, support, admin, HR and surveyor work.
Speaking of the Women in Business initiative, Lesley Martin-Wright, Chief Executive of Knowsley Chamber, says: “Often women are among the most respected and trusted members of their communities – this is also reflective in the business world. Our aim is to support women in business and their own vital role in the business community”.
We are continually looking for opportunities to hire and encourage women to choose a career within the construction industry, by looking to recruit and support more women to the team.
